Amélie Patisserie has become the first Croatian partner of the Women in Coffee initiative, through which Caffè Vergnano supports women in the coffee industry. The partnership was presented during Amélie's 16th anniversary celebration, where guests had the opportunity to taste the special Women in Coffee blend, served in the recognizable pink cup. A part of the proceeds from the sale of Women in Coffee blend is set aside to fund projects that empower women in the coffee sector.

From the very first moment I learned about the Women in Coffee story, I knew it was the coffee I wanted to serve at Amélie. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand how important support is at every stage of building a business. That is why I am especially pleased that, through this collaboration, we can offer our guests not only exceptional coffee but also the opportunity to be part of a larger, positive change for women in the coffee industry. It is important to me that Amélie continues to be recognized for its quality and unique identity while remaining open to new ideas and the evolving needs of our guests. I am proud that we are the first in Croatia to become a part of this inspiring story

The Women in Coffee blend is the driving force behind the global initiative of the same name. Caffè Vergnano launched the initiative in 2018, inspired by findings of the study conducted by International Coffee Organization, which showed women make up as much as 70% of the coffee industry's workforce, while only 25% of coffee farms are managed by women.

These figures highlight the vital role women play throughout the whole coffee value chain - as producers, workers, and entrepreneurs. Yet they continue to face significant barriers to education, access to financing, and other essential resources needed to build successful businesses.

Coca-Cola HBC Adria, as a strategic partner of Caffè Vergnano, sees this partnership with Amélie as an important step in raising awareness of the position of women in the coffee industry. Our goal is to continue developing similar partnerships with hospitality businesses across Croatia to generate additional funding for projects that promote culture and accessible education - key drivers of community empowerment, social inclusion, and the creation of long-term social value

With more than 140 years of tradition and a presence on over 90 markets, Caffè Vergnano is one of Italy's most respected coffee producers. Through its partnership with Coca-Cola HBC Croatia, the company brings not only premium Italian coffee to the Croatian market but also the values that stand behind it. Every cup of the Women in Coffee blend – now available in Croatia –helps support tangible projects that provide women in coffee-producing countries access to education, professional development, and greater economic independence, including initiatives such as a micro-roastery in the Dominican Republic and a library in Honduras.
