All chefs and pastry chefs who have one to five years of experience can now apply for the Raise the Bar Scholarship. Awarded by Coca-Cola HBC Adria, the scholarship provides free education at renowned international culinary schools. Applications are open until 2 November on the website https://www.raisethebaradria.com/en/stipendija/.
Raise the Bar Scholarship is intended for individuals who are committed to improving their skills and who wish to contribute to Croatia’s hospitality and tourism sector through self-development. Recipients of the Scholarship will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills at prestigious schools such as Le Cordon Bleu, École Ducasse, and ALMA – La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana.
The selection of the scholarship recipients will begin with a review of submitted applications. At this stage, representatives from Coca-Cola HBC Adria’s Human Resources Department and Raise the Bar team will evaluate candidates based on their motivation, prior experience, and plans for future development. In the next stage, top culinary experts – Hrvoje Kroflin, Marko Gajski, Igor Gudac, Bruno Vokal, and Tea Mamut – will assess their skills and select the most promising candidates.
To date, Raise the Bar has awarded 18 scholarships to talented chefs and pastry chefs. One of the first recipients, Tibor Valinčić, went on to earn a Michelin star for the restaurant Dubravkin put. Last year, four recipients continued their professional development at prestigious international culinary schools. This opportunity was seized by pastry chef Kate Svaguša from Makarska, Rea Gabriela Vrsalović from Brač and chefs Antonio Banovac from Split and Jela Šaban from Zagreb.
Raise the Bar is looking for young professionals over the age of 18 who wish to continue developing their careers and contribute to the long-term development of the Croatian hospitality industry. Everyone who fits this description and believes excellence is not a one-time achievement but something proven continuously is encouraged to apply through the Raise the Bar website.
Raise the Bar is Coca-Cola HBC Adria’s strategic platform, created to provide young professionals with additional training through three key programs – all aimed at enhancing the quality of the hospitality and tourism industry. Since 2019, more than 100 bartenders, waiters, and baristas have completed the Academy, 18 scholarship recipients have trained at schools around the world, and nearly 4,000 high school students have gained valuable skills to help them start their careers in hospitality.
