Coca-Cola HBC has once again made the CDP A List, achieving an “A” score in two categories, i.e., tackling climate change and preserving water security. This is the sixth consecutive year that Coca-Cola HBC has received the A rating in the climate change category, and the fifth time in the past six years that it received such rating in the water security category.

From the total of 13000 companies assessed by the CDP, Coca-Cola HBC belongs to the 1 % of companies that have achieved a double “A” score.

“This is great recognition for all the work our colleagues do every day to help us build an even more sustainable company and future. We started this journey many years ago, and we consider it integral to our future growth. Our recent commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain by 2040 on one hand, and the stark realities presented at the COP26 conference on the other, remind us of the scale of the challenges we are facing and just how much work is ahead of us,” said Marcel Martin, Director of the Operations Department at Coca-Cola HBC.

Such CDP score comes as further recognition of Coca-Cola HBC’s performance in addition to the ratings awarded to the company by other rating and index providers, such as the DJSI, MSCI ESG, FTSE Russell ESG, and ISS-Oekom.

In October 2021, Coca-Cola HBC committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2040. The company has prepared a robust plan, and it intends to invest € 250 million in emission reduction initiatives by 2025. Through its current, science-based target, the company plans to reduce its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 25 % across the entire value chain by 2030, with a further 50 % reduction planned in the next decade. Furthermore, to address the problem of 90% of its Scope 3 emissions resulting from third party activities, Coca-Cola HBC will broaden its existing collaboration with the suppliers. Finally, in cases where emissions cannot be entirely eliminated, the company will try to reduce them by investing in other climate protection measures.
