Zagreb, December 10, 2010 – Christmas lights on the facade of the theatre Komedija were switched on last night, marking the launch of this year’s project Christmas Story, organised by Coca‑Cola HBC Croatia and Zagreb Tourist Board and sponsored by the Main office of the Croatian National Tourist Board.
Lights were switched on by the theatre manager Niko Pavlović and the opera singer Sandra Bagarić. Many public figures as well as actors and singers from the theatre Komedija, such as Mila Elegović, Igor Mešin, Danijela Pintarić, Đani Stipaničev and others, attended the launch event. They enjoyed mulled wine and the music played by the DJ.
For the second year in a row, the project Christmas Story promotes Christmas decorations in the city, spreads optimism and creates a holiday atmosphere which is typical of Christmas. Thanks to this project, sights and streets of Zagreb are decorated, inspiring citizens to decorate their homes as well.
For the past 42 years, Coca‑Cola Croatia has been an indispensable part of everyday life in Zagreb, just like the theatre Komedija, which is also the symbol of its culture. For the second year in a row, we provide support when it comes to decorating the city for Christmas and we are proud that by doing that, we have a chance to contribute to the aesthetics of the city,” said Igor Ćutuk, Public Affairs Supervisor of Coca‑Cola HBC Croatia.
The event also featured a play Narodil' se mladi kralj (The Baby King was born), directed by Vid Balog and performed by actors from the theatre Komedija, Damir Lončar, Ivica Zadro, Ljubo Zečević and Dubravka Ostojić and Lado, the National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia.
